We're ALL sick honey

Coucou le monde!!!

Hope ya'll had such a good week I am so happy right now because I had an awesome week and there is a panini AND a crêpe in my digestive system right now (you know me, gotta mention food in at least every email).

So many crazy stories from this week. First being, we taught the Word of Wisdom to one of our amis this week and it was...a lesson HA. We were sitting there testifying about how their lives can be blessed by following it. Meanwhile, her member mom is in the corner cutting onions and spraying the remnants all over the room. I am crying because she's cutting a whole garden over there and in French she's like "HOLD UP" and midsentence we're like "...yes" and she goes "I'm going to a wedding reception this weekend and you're really saying I'm not gonna drink a glass of champagne?!?" And we just look at her like...yes that is exactly what we're saying. And our ami is so confused just looking between us not knowing what's okay, and so we had to explain that it's not good to drink alcohol because our bodies are a temple. Her mom is still protesting, "Well I'm a member and I still drink", so to our ami we're just like okay buddy you can come to the temple for the next lesson, we'll talk about this. Oof. So that one was rough but it was an experience HA.

Also I love our amis so, so much...I don't have enough time to describe all of them but I'll talk about one. Sylvie, I've mentioned her, is still in the hospital but she always begs us to come over and we always bring her white chocolate and read in The Book of Mormon because we've finished the lessons. So we come this time, and in her sweet little strained vocal cords she's bearing her testimony and then I hear this voice over the divider say "I AM TRYING TO SLEEP." This lady literally always tells us to leave even if it's the middle of the day. So Sylvie gets out of her hospital bed and turns around (keep in mind this woman can hardly stand) and she whips around so quick like "I am TRYING to hear the sweet message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it is 19:00!! Let these missionaries speak." And the lady is like "I'M SICK" and Sylvie, who's been there 9 months is like "We're ALL sick honey." HA I've never seen her more mad than when somebody told her missionaries to leave. I love her so much.

It's crazy how much your heart grows when you're a missionary. You love your family and your friends and you think there's no more space for anybody else HA. And then you meet all these amazing people who have been waiting for the gospel and you meet other missionaries and families come to the Visitor's Center that are incredible and I just love being a missionary. Definitely one of the hardest things I've ever done and you can't fully understand until you're on one. But I've learned so much and met so many incredible people here. If I have any readers deciding whether to go on a mission, I encourage you to do it. It will absolutely change your life.

I love you all!! Have a good week!
Sœur McOmber

Most of the time grocery stores only have a few fruits that are in season but the outdoor markets have a lot of fresh grown fruit. Alors, these were my first strawberries in months.

Panini Crêpe!!! Legend among missionaries. A panini AND a crêpe AND a drink. 5 Euros.

We went to Musée D'Orsay today and it is my new favorite museum in Paris. I'll have way more pics next week but it's a lil different than the Louvre because less naked people and it has more of artists like Vangogh, Monet, and Picasso.
